The other day I was hanging out with my two friends and having a jolly time, eventually one of them (the degenerate) wants to go get some Marlboro reds. So off we go on an adventure to the dollar store.
Upon our arrival I make my way over to the candy aisle in order to get some Werther’s (pictured above) hard candy. Unfortunately they don’t have the good flavor (pictured above), or even the less good flavor (not pictured above), only some stupid sugar free caramels.
Anyhow my friend sees this and asks if I was looking at the Werther’s. I inform him that yes I was in fact looking at the Werther’s. Upon learning this he immediately bursts into laughter and begins making fun of me for buying them.
A short conversation regarding the topic continues which ends in both friends pointing at me and laughing for about a minute in the middle of the store (they’re jerks but I still love them). In all honestly I cannot comprehend why.
Now my friend (the degenerate) has been calling me Werther’s Boy. I just like to buy Werther’s as they make my 12 hour shifts at the factory slightly easier to get through, as well as because I like them as a candy. What are the cultural connotations of Werther’s? Am I truly that absurd for buying them? Does this mean that I’m some sort of twisted psychopath? I need answers.

I’m a Werther’s Boy too. I made the mistake of telling my friends and now I’m relentlessly abused and spat upon, and shat upon, and they give me wedgies. that’s not a weird fetish or anything, I’m just very wedgieable and I hate it. I HATE IT when that happens too me! great candy though.
im sorry
There is an old jar of Werthers at my sister-in-laws house. Each time I visit I eat one, but the jar never seems to get any emptier than the last time I saw it.
