I have a theory. No, a belief.
It holds that Angelboy is physically the Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid for the orignal Playstation.
Firstly, it is his picture and avatar for this website.
Secondly, he advocates for games being a surrogate for religion itself. Games are for fun, therefore life is for fun. This is akin to Solid Snake being a stand-in for the player, a genetically engineered replica of the greatest soldier in history, Big Boss.
Finally, Angel Snake (Angelboy) founded the group, “Philanthropy” and saved Raiden from MGS2.
That is all I have to say about that.
Videogames are powerful in the sense that they are able to provide a new reality to experience and play. I’m sure we all have nostalgic memories of our favorite games. Certain levels or in game moments can even conjure up memories of previous points in our lives upon replaying.
Recently I was looking through my old laptop files and found my save for The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past that I was playing on an emulator. I was a pretty far into the game, and would’ve probably completed it if I hadn’t stopped playing. I remember I just finished the Ice Palace and was stuck on how to progress. In my lack of progress I had completed multiple side quests to become more powerful. I decided that I was close enough to finish so I might as well.
I looked up a quick walkthrough and began where I left off on my way to the Misery Mire. It was nice to get back into the flow of using the grappling hook, solving puzzles, and slaying foes that came across my path. After completing more than half the dungeon and dying I decided to make a save state at the beginning of the temple and go to bed. That way I could start where I left off in the morning before work. However I made a mistake.
I had accidentally pressed the “load save state” hotkey instead, and loaded up a save state I made as a kid at the beginning of the Ice Palace. I closed the emulator and reloaded but this ended up locking in the save state to my regular game save. This save was way farther back in the game with me having lost an unbearable amount of progress. Yet, I decided to persist and complete the Ice Palace, something I wish I hadn’t done at all.
From the first room in the dungeon to the next I was overwhelmed by awful memories from my childhood. My parents arguing loudly, saying awful things to each other and about me. I remember being able to deal with it at first but having to turn up my volume as it got worse and I got farther into the dungeon. I remember the sound failed to mute out my parents as the fight got louder and the screaming got intense, and the tears blurred my vision to the point where I might as well have been playing on a low-res CRT.
Needless To Say, I WILL NOT BE FINISHING THE GAME AND FACING THOSE MEMORIES.
I should change my name from “Nicey” to “idiot dumbass” because that’s what I am. I am not some “up and gaming thought leader” like I imagined. I am just a guy who lost big time. Let me tell you how.
THE PLAN:
It’s no secret I’m poor, but that wasn’t a bug that was a feature. I had put all my golden eggs into one basket, and then another, and then another. Each one I thought guaranteed to print cash like an unpatched dupe exploit. However, investing isn’t like a tycoon game. Each time the baskets would shave off a bit in fees and losses until I had only a fraction of my initial investment. “This was all going to change” I thought to myself, as I had a new plan. Because I am a gamer I thought I should invest in what I know, one final basket to shoot me out of poverty into a nice apartment. The basket: Take-Two Interactive Software call options with a strike price of $270 expiring September 5th 2026.
My plan being that with GTA 6 being the most anticipated game of the decade (maybe even century) showcasing an exclusive look on Netflix would skyrocket pre-orders and that the stock price would shoot through the roof. It might even hit something like $320 meaning I could close to double my money. Possibly higher, meaning a new high score for Largest Amount of Money Ever In My Bank Account.
STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!
Then, some fucking ASSHOLE DICKHEAD comes along and decides to be some big retarded gaming rights hero (or memecoin scammer douchbag or whatever) and leak Grand Theft Auto 6 footage! Now the stock price is $234 and I am ruined and I may lose all my money. I could have to start back at spawn (my parents house) which might as well be game over for a guy like me. How fucking embarrassing would it be to be the prodigal gaming day trader son going to live with mom and pop because I thought I could make some easy dough? My only saving grace is that Rockstar shocks the entire world during their Netflix presentation with The Greatest Trailer The World Has Ever Seen. But based on the leaks, that looks unlikely.
Anybody Else ever had similar issues when trying to play The Stock Market Game?
I had a dream last night.
In the dream, I was playing Fallout New Vegas, except it didn’t feel like I was playing a game. I was actually there in the Mojave. It felt completely real.
I was out camping somewhere in the desert during a quest when my dog, Atlas, suddenly came limping toward me. Something was seriously wrong with his leg. I put him in my car and started trying to drive home but I kept running into broken bridges and undrivable roads, all while not being able to get through to anyone on the phone.
Eventually I made it home, but Atlas was still badly hurt.
Then I suddenly realized
I could reload.
Even though everything felt like real life, I knew I was still inside a game. I remember saying to my family, “I am sorry. I have to reload the save.” They were understanding and wished me luck.
When I loaded back in, I was outside the building where I had been camping before, looking for my dog.
But Atlas wasn’t there.
I saw a dog running towards me from the dark desert.
It was Rex.
And as Rex came running up to me, I heard a voice. I cannot remember the exact wording but it was something like
“How did we get so far away from this?”
Fallout New Vegas came out in 2010. Back then I could sit down and play a game all day. I didn’t feel guilty about it. I didn’t think there were more productive things I should be doing. I didn’t analyze whether the mechanics were dated or whether movement was too slow. My back didn’t hurt. My arms didn’t go numb.
I just played.
And somewhere over the years, I got very far away from that.
I haven’t been playing games much recently. Too much to do, or so I tell myself. I thought I understood “Get back to gaming” but I realize now that I didn’t get it at all.
I woke up remembering almost the entire dream, which almost never happens to me. Most dreams disappear within minutes, but this one stayed with me, and the more I thought about it, the harder it hit me. I cried for 20 minutes after waking up. This felt less like a random dream and more like a message.
I am not religious and yet I heard the voice of God.
God is a gamer.
And he wants us to get back to gaming.
Beautiful fellas and lady gamers, I have GOOD NEWS!!!!
I have figured out how to make an energy drink that will fuel the mind of a gamer to overcome any challenge.
Use sucralose drops, crushed caffine tablets, flavoring oils, citric acid, L-Theanine, and Taurine. Follow recommended surving sizes and then add water.
I personally crush a 200mg tablet in mine and only have 1 per day omitting wednesday and thursday when im already in the groove. This keeps my tolerance down.
A celcius boughtbin bulk is gonna run you around a buck .50 per serving. I was having 2 a day leading to around $548 per year.
Black ground coffee in bulk will run you around 20 cents per serving and doesn’t have the Taurine to calm the caffine jitters or the L-Theanine for mental clarity. Plus it tastes like garbage without sugar.
Finding bulk sources, i have gotten my energy drink down to 10 CENTS PER DAY. And it tastes good too.
A couple things to note:
- Dont use over 400mg of caffine per day.
- Dont use essential oils or fragrance oils.
I had to call poison control since I originally bought fragrance oils and had them for over a week. I’m all good though… we had a good chuckle about it.
When I begin to write and when I make the decision to compose a text like this, which will be read by other people, I question what it is I have to say… and I further question, again, whether if I do not know what I have to say when I begin writing, should I be writing at all?
The answer of course is that writing is fun!
I started a new job a month ago—new job new town new country. Working working all the time almost every day. I try to make it fun and exciting, inventing little mini-games like guessing the weight of the fish before I put it on the scale. I’ve gotten pretty good at it. On my breaks I sometimes read testimonies and it… I feel warmth and joy at the attitudes and characters that visit the site. Maybe that is what this is then, a show of gratitude and appreciation.
What I’m writing is a little meandering and vulnerable and unfiltered and it might be a bit too genuine and transparent. Many of the testimonies here are performative, which is not at all a bad thing for it is what makes them fun!, but maybe there is space as well for a… a Postcard!
I have decided. It is a postcard sent to a friend—a greeting from far away and a reminder that they are in my thoughts no matter the distance.
Many cheers and GL HF

(P.S. there are some beautiful tracks on the Gamer Radio)
hello gamers.
When it comes to creating, whether it be software or music, I often find myself in a state of obsession. I sink into the belief that everything I produce must be without error, not a conceivable flaw in sight. Hours of toiling and knob twisting to perfect even the most minute detail. The snare is half a decibel too loud. A pair of methods in my class have three lines of shared code. This note is slightly off time and needs to be quantized. The pursuit of self expression devolves into a monotonous chore of normalization.
This is a nagging habit that has plagued nearly every creative work I’ve involved myself in. Sure, it pushes me to endlessly improve my craft, but not without dire consequences. Burn out is inevitable. Endless projects left abandoned, seeming miles away from a finish line that’s actually an arm’s length away. Anything worked enough to reach the end feels corporate and clinical, devoid of charm and personality. What good is substantial skill in a subject when nothing ever comes of it? What’s the point of expanding my understanding of a craft when it does nothing more than expose more flaws in my work?
As irrational as chasing perfection is from an outside perspective, it’s an incredibly difficult habit to break. It’s a long and arduous battle that I fight every day. I’ve begun to forgive myself more and appreciate the quirks that come with mistakes or limited knowledge. Limitation breeds creativity, after all. Maybe the true solution is to just take the dive, release something when you’re excited for it, not when you’re fully content.
I’d love to know your guys’ thoughts on the subject, whether or not you’ve ever found yourself in the same boat. What may or may not have helped you, flaws you appreciate in your favorite works, et cetera. Keep on making, and keep on gaming.
